Pt. Lalit Mohan Sharma Government Post Graduate College, Rishikesh, affiliated to the HNB Garhwal University, is one of the best academic institutions of the newly created Uttaranchal State. It was started by the state Government in July 1973 and is spread over 49 acres. It is the only institution catering to the academic need of western part of Uttaranchal comprising complex social milieu.

The College is surrounded by picturesque foot hills of the Great Himalayas.
